Operating from premises in Hemel Hempstead the purpose of this service is twofold.

Paradise Furniture Warehouse

We operate a furniture re-use and recycling service accepting donations of unwanted furniture which we collect from addresses in Dacorum, St Albans and Chesham. We request a donation to cover the cost of collection.  From our warehouse in Hemel Hempstead we sell the donated items onto all members of the local community also at a reduced rate for those on means tested benefit. We are also part of the Dacorum Card Scheme.

The furniture warehouse is full of items of good quality furniture and white goods and is the ideal place to shop for people in need of new furniture who are unable to afford shop prices or for those setting up home for the first time. Paradise Furniture Warehouse is open six days per week and has a regular supply of beds, electrical goods, three piece suites, dining tables and chairs, wardrobes and other items of household furniture.

Paradise Training

We provide a range of training opportunities for those who face barriers to employment. The aim of the service is through learning to support people to enter into work or improve employability. With a flexible and innovative use of the premises we offer training in a range of subjects, including Fork Lift Truck Driving, CSCS Construction Cards, a range of basic construction courses, arts and crafts, beauty and IT.  For enquiries or to drop in and see what we are doing we are open on Mondays to Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm at our premises on Wood Lane in Hemel Hempstead.  Come along and find out what training is on offer and book a place on your chosen course.

In November 2009 we were successful in an application to the Big Lottery People’s Millions and this has enabled one of our former minibuses to be converted into a mobile music studio to tutor Music DJing and Mixing. Paradise Sounds is available to hire by voluntary/community groups, schools and private bookings. Alongside the mobile facility we can offer the same training delivered onsite at our premises in our new sound studio in a variety of courses ranging from one day to five days.
