Social Networks for Local Empowerment (SOLE)

Community Action Dacorum is a partner in this new project which will run from May 2012 to April 2013. The project is led by CESIE and is funded through the Europe for Citizens programme

SOLE aims to spread knowledge about the Europe for Citizens Programme, promote active European citizenship, values and culture, and empower local entities with few or without experience in transnational cooperation by transferring knowledge on how to apply for grants under the Europe for Citizens programme and how to network using new ICT tools, thanks to their involvement by project partners with experience.

Partners will reach local authorities and Civil society organisations not active in the field of European programmes and management because of lack of information and fewer opportunities in terms of geographical, social, cultural or economic difficulties. The project involves 11 partners from Italy, Romania, UK, Latvia, Slovakia, France, Denmark, Slovenia, Germany and Macedonia.

1.Training Course (TC): focused on the Europe for Citizens Programme, EU project development and management, active citizenship and participation through new ICTs tools; networking and exchange of experience and practice for the empowerment of local entities with fewer opportunities.

The workshop will take place in July 2012 and will include representatives from Community Action Dacorum, Dacorum Communities for Learning, Druglink and Herts Mind Network. In total there will be 44 people attending from the 11 project partners.

2.Networking period and Presentation of Projects: implementation of knowledge acquired during the Training Course and elaboration of new project ideas. Partners and local entities will collaborate to organise a local Information event.

3.Dissemination Event: to show the results of the networking period, present new project ideas and involve local community, citizens, Civil society organisations, municipalities representatives to increase the impact and exploitation of the results through a final Conference.
